Arvind Sharma, Chandigarh, India

Making paper-based collages has been my hobby since the year 1999. I am an engineer by qualification hence not holding any formal training in fine arts, expressing myself using it as a tool fascinates me to date. Though due to my preoccupations with work I could not make them too often, most of them have been an abstract representation of my thoughts, experiences, things around me, nature, and social issues. Primarily echoing the opening of closed doors in my quests, hence making each one of them unique in itself. What also makes them distinctive with my style is the applied paper pattern substituting colors, design, emotion, and my no use of scissors policy unless a thick handmade paper is utilized. I am also experimenting with a couple of different techniques like the use of reclaimed wood, metal, and electronic components by fabricating and sculpting them into a collage. For a more illustrative experience, I would encourage you to check out the gallery below with pictures of my raw work during the process.

If my style speaks to you, I’d love to work with you in the future. Please be in touch to find out more and to discuss how we can collaborate on whatever you have in mind.

“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way—things I had no words for.”
